Diploma in Accounting Level 2

The purpose of the course is to offer the foundation accounting knowledge needed to progress to employment or further study in accountancy and finance, alongside business and personal skills that are transferable to any sector and additional business knowledge relevant to accountancy.

Having studied this qualification, you will be able to progress to Level 3 Diploma in Accounting or Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping.

The Level 2 course covers a range of key areas, including: Introduction to Bookkeeping; Principles of Bookkeeping; Principles of Costing; The Business Environment. You will also develop business communications and lifelong learning skills, applying what you learn on the course to the wider industry context.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners need to have achieved previously - Level 1 English Functional Skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. You will need to have completed the Level 1 Bookkeeping course prior to starting this Level 2 course. Additionally, you should have good digital IT skills.

How is it assessed?

This course is assessed through computer-based exams and a synoptic assessment, which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.

Do you need to be working to take the qualification?
